Feel like a structured stroll in some beautiful bushland? Volunteers and a Seed Collection supervisor from Trees in Newcastle go seed collecting every Friday in some of the best bits of bush in the Lower Hunter. If you would like to learn about seed in all of its glorious shapes and stages, learn about the bushland in bloom and contribute to the Lower Hunter Region Community Seedbank, the bus leaves at 9am from TIN.

At TIN we collect seed to contribute to the Lower Hunter Region Community Seedbank as part of a region wide strategy to help protect the long term survival of our native plants in the Lower Hunter. In the process we learn a lot about the bushland.

Whilst we’re out in the bushland we learn about many aspects of the local plants and animals. We collect information about what the plants are doing, when they flower and when they set seed. This information contributes to a bank of knowledge that can help support planning for regeneration and restoration projects within the Lower Hunter.
