LAKE MACQUARIE LANDCARE MINI MUSTER 2008

The first week in September is Landcare Week. This week is set aside by Landcarers across Australia to celebrate the role that Landcare plays in sustainable land use, community participation in natural resource management and biodiversity conservation.

We will be celebrating the considerable successes of Landcare in Lake Macquarie in Landcare week with an LRO Open Day and BBQ on Thursday 4th, and a Landcare Mini Muster in and around the "Landcare Humpy" in Speers Point Park on Saturday 6th September for the Lake Macquarie Landcare Network, our sponsors and supporters.
 
The Mini Muster will include:
  • Presentation of the 2008 Landcare Awards to some of our leading Landcarers and groups, including the announcement of this year's Landcare Legends
  • The launch of the 2008 Lake Macquarie Landcare Year Book recording the efforts of all of our Landcare groups
  • Snapshots and Case Studies of the work undertaken by some of our groups
  • Information pack CDs and other resources
  • Presentations and displays about Landcare related topics
  • A great Landcare BBQ
 
General Program for the Day:
10am.........Start of the days events with morning tea and displays
12 noon.....Lunch
1pm...........Presentation of 2008 Landcare Awards
3pm...........Wrap up of the days events.
