Cara-Jane Lloyd, affectionately known as Cara, has scooped the pool at the Hunter Regional Apprentice and Trainee Awards held this month, taking out the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Student of the Year.

"It's no wonder, she's such a fantastic asset to the TIN team, she knows what needs to be done and she goes about doing it" Nursery Manager Barb Nanshe said.

It's important to celebrate the successes

The City of Newcastle Service Award for service in environmental education was presented to TIN's Jenny Robinson.

Jenny Robinson is an outstanding, conscientious community contributor disguised a quiet achiever. Jenny has been a leading hand in the Merewether Surf Life Saving Club for over 20 years, a stalwart parent volunteer helper at Holy Family for 12 years and an inspirational environmental educator at Trees In Newcastle, assisting hundreds of local schools on the pathway towards sustainability.

TIN has been confered the honour of a City of Newcastle Medal to show appreciation of service, commitment, effort and achievement that makes a difference in the lives of Novocastrians and to celebrate community participation and spirit. The Medal is for distinguished service of a high degree to Newcastle and its citizens. Below is the nomination submission.
