Volunteers and a Seed Collection supervisor from Trees in Newcastle go seed collecting every Friday in some of the best bits of bush in the Lower Hunter. Trees In Newcastle aims to encourage the interests of the community in seed collection, propagation, planting and nurturing of local native species. Burwood Beach is the coastal part of Glenrock State Consevation Area. In the past, this bit of beach had its foredunes covered by Bitou Bush. Several years of efforts by coastal volunteers are making a difference to the varierty of coastal plants that now call Burwood Beach their home.
