Do you have energy to burn? Maybe it’s about the coastal environment you want to learn? TIN volunteers regularly go Coastcaring along Newcastle’s spectacular coastline to King Edward Park, Shepherds Hill, Merewether Beach and Burwood Beach throughout the year. The bus leaves from TIN at 9am.

Merewether Beach is a well loved stretch of the local coastline. Once
upon a time there was only Bitou Bush on the dunes but now thanks to
the efforts of several local coastcare groups native vegetation is once
again holding the dunes in place. The main task we tackle is the
ongoing replacement of local weeds such as Gazania and Bitou Bush with
local coastal native plants.
