Becoming a member of Trees in Newcastle is one way of lending your support to improve the local environment of the Lower Hunter by planting local native plants and learning about bush regeneration.
A standard membership is just $20 a year, $15 for unwaged and gives you access to the largest range of local native species in Newcastle. A Counteracting Carbon Membership is $30.
Membership gets you:
- Standard membership gives you 10 free trees, shrubs or ground-covers of your choice - an inexpensive way to establish a native garden or improve the air quality of your street
- Councteracting Carbon Membership provides 17 trees, shrubs or ground-covers. Seventeen trees will offset the greenhouse gases of an average car for one year.
- A quarterly newsletter full of news, information, updates and tips to inspire the environmentally aware.
- Genuine wholesale prices on a wide range of native trees, shrubs, grasses and groundcovers.
- Free information and advice on growing native plants and selecting the appropriate species for your site.
- The opportunity to participate in a variety of workshops and hands-on activities including seed collection, plant propagation, tree planting and community education projects.
