Our Sponsors

Newcastle City Council provides TIN with complimentary use of 252 Parry Street Newcastle West for our Community Nursery and Volunteer Centre.

Transgrid provides TIN with a site for our Bulk Order Nursery at Callaghan.

Grants 2011-12

Hunter-Central Rivers Catchment Management Authority

$10,000 Caring for Our Country Community Network Support grant to produce regular newsletters, attend community events, produce video and fact sheets for community Landcarers and host two weekend working bees.

$36,215 Caring for Our Coast-Glenrock State Conservation Area Threat Abatement. This project aims to conserve biodiversity in Glenrock SCA by controlling weeds in vegetation communites with high conservation significance.

Landcare Australia-Borland Bequest

$33,000 Martinsville Melaleuca biconvexa Missing Link. This project aims to rehabilitate degraded riparian areas around the confluence of three arms of Dora and Gap creeks and regenerate a strategic linkage in the valley floor between dry sclerophyll forested ridgelines of the Watagans.

NRMA

$4615 Community Grant -The Seed Savvy program aims to recruit and train volunteers so a specialist seed collection team can support the the need for seed to provide local native plants to the community.

Hunter Water

$4000 Community Grant to engage young people in Newcastle to undertake Landcare on their school grounds and in the commuity. TIN will work closely with three schools to improve water quality through planting and develop online resources and build the Landcare 4 Youth, L4Y program.

Newcastle City Council

$10,000 Community Assistance Program was received by TIN to continue rehabilitating the coastal strip from Nobbys to Glenrock. This grant will enable secondary and tertiary weeding to continue at King Edward Park and Shepherds Hill.

NSW Environmental Trust

$75,000 Community Education grant over 3 years to Lake Macquarie City Council sub-contracted to TIN to facilitate the Landcare 4 Youth program in the Lake Macquarie LGA.This grant finishes in Term 4, 2011.

$10,000 Caring for Our Country Community Network Support grant to make this website a valuable resource for community Landcarers.

$27,234 Caring for Our Country grant for rehabilitation of coastal heath and littoral rainforest in Glenrock State Conservation Area.

NSW Dept of Premier & Cabinet

$35,705 NSW Community Building Partnership Program grant for capital improvements to our nursery and office.

NSW Environmental Trust

$75,000 Community Education grant over 3 years to Lake Macquarie City Council sub-contracted to TIN to facilitate the Landcare 4 Youth program in the Lake Macquarie LGA. 

The Australian Government’s Department of Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts and the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry

$17,858 Caring for Our Country grant for Trees In Newcastle Landcare group’s coastal rehabilitation at Merewether Beach, Burwood Beach and King Edward Park, Newcastle.

Hunter Water

$5,000 for Trees In Newcastle Landcare group’s coastal rehabilitation works at Shepherds Hill, Newcastle.
